| P&O's 27,670grt former ship Victoria began life in 1966 as Kungsholm (IV) for Swedish America in 1966 and had 2 funnels doing the transatlantic route. As with many lines during the 60s and 70s, Swedish America became a name from the past due to costs and pulled out of the shipping industry. She was sold to Flagship Cruises of Norway in 1975 but kept her name. 3 years later P&O bought her to replace Arcadia (II) to cruise in Australia and she lost her forward funnel, her aft one being completely redesigned emerging in 1979 as Sea Princess (I). She was tranferred to their American arm, Princess Cruises, in 1996 before reverting back to P&O in 1995, based in Southampton and named Victoria. On New Year's Eve 1999 she had been chartered to celebrate the centenery of the former Union-Castle Line for a cruise to South Africa and back, her funnel being painted Union-Castle colours for the one-off event. In 2002 she was sold to Germany's Holiday Kreuzfahrten and renamed Mona Lisa until they went bankrupt in 2006. Royal Caribbean International took her on for two roles. She would be The Scholar Ship for their new venture as well as Oceanic II for Pullmantur. Her role there ended in 2008 when she became Mona Lisa again. As it is unlikely she will meet the 2010 SOLAS regulations, she faces an uncertain future with rumours she'll be restored as a hotel in Sweden.
