| This 34,250grt ship, built for Royal Cruise Line and delivered in 1988 was in Southampton on the 7th September the same year. Royal Cruise Line was taken over by Norwegian Cruise Line the following year and in 1996 Crown Odyssey became Norwegian Odyssey during a fleet reshuffle. She regained her original name after a move to Orient Line (owned by NCL) in 2000 but transferred back to the NCL fleet in 2003 as Norwegian Crown. In 2006 she was sold to Fred.Olsen Cruise Line, effective from August, but Star Cruises chartered her until November 2007 so she could continue her planned itinery when she was handed over to Fred Olsen to become Balmoral. The following photo is her in Southampton on the above mentioned date. |
